Hung out with two stars at the SCAD 2012 Senior Showcase today - oh la la for me! Delaney Yurco was as sweet as could be in her performance as Tapley in l’esprit d’escalier, a story of a daughter who receives the love she so richly deserves from her mother. Yay for my good friend Caroline Aylward who directed this hopeful film!

And kudos to my gal pal Claire Clayton for co-writing the script!

My longtime friend and photographer Chris Bohlin (#Bohlguy) exhibited large-scale prints and a moving image that gave an honest account of the artist’s story at Oglethorpe Gallery in Savannah, GA. The event celebrated Bohlin’s pursuit of good feelings and easygoingness as he looks forward to receiving his BFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design at the end of the month. I wish I shared this sooner being that the show happened two weeks ago on Friday, April 20th, but as Bohlin would say, “That’s #LIFE.”

On an intimate stage in the Telfair Museum’s Jepson Center for the Arts, bizarre and seductive things can happen, especially if you listen, really listen to the moon. Portrayed as an aging, violin playing dandy wearing a silver mask and pants, actor Alexander Nathan quickly became the constant that held together “References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot.” But really the entire cast was unforgettable. So impressed on Thursday April 12th with SCAD MFA candidate Bevin Prince producing and co-directing this Jose Rivera original!

And kudos to the delightfully colorful set design made by Dr. Z!

Bruce Springsteen spoke on the meaning of rock-n-roll and acknowledging when you “suck” during his keynote address at Austin’s 2012 Annual South by Southwest Music Festival. A humble Springsteen described himself as “an average guy with a slightly above average gift.” And I admit, it was quite reassuring.
